Founder’s Trip – July & August 2009

E4K’s founder was in the DR for 6 weeks and completed many projects along with organizing the VBS and Educational teams. Projects completed included laying down two 25x30 cement pads behind the school.  This will give the children a clean place to play during rainy season when the school yard becomes one big mud hole.  A water cistern was built at the mission house so the teams will have water all the time.  There is always a water shortage and so water is allocated between three villages.  The water comes to Habanero every three days for about 8 hours at a time and then it is shut off.  Now with the cistern we can store enough water to last us in between water allocations. Arrangements were made for eye examinations to be conducted.  Doctors and nurses filled the school and examined about 60 people.  It was learned there is a great need for eye glasses and a project has been set up to begin collecting used eye glasses so we can take them on the next mission trip.
